Pressure Cooker Cranberry BBQ Ribs

This is by far the easiest baby back rib recipe I’ve ever made! My 10 QT Crock-Pot Express Easy Steam Release Pressure Cooker from Target makes it fool proof. It releases pressure while being able to keep my hands away from hot steam with the easy release steam dial. There is a ton of things you make with this with all of the functions. You can steam veggies, make soups, shredded meat, rice.. there’s even a sautĆ© function! Pressure Cooker Cranberry BBQ Ribs

Baby back ribs are such a fun addition to holiday parties! The cranberry BBQ sauce has delicious sweet and tangy flavors. You can definitely make your own cranberry sauce for this recipe. However, I just bought the pre-made one from Trader Joe’s. It’s so good and the perfect amount of sweet. I’m all about convenience this time of year!

Pressure Cooker Baby Back Ribs

For the BBQ sauce – you can use any store bought kind. I just would stay away from any that have addition flavors to them. Good ol’ basic BBQ works best.

Pressure Cooker Cranberry BBQ Ribs


Ingredients

Pressure Cooker Ribs

2 lbs. baby back ribs, silver membrane removed

salt and pepper

1.5 tsp garlic powder

1.5 tsp paprika

2 tbsp coconut sugar or brown sugar

1 cup chicken broth

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

Cranberry BBQ sauce

1/3 cup cranberry sauce

1 cup BBQ sauce

1 tbsp maple syrup, optional

1 tbsp dijon

pinch of salt


Instructions

Pat dry your ribs.

Pat on your dry rub (salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder and coconut sugar) on both sides of your ribs. Rub the seasonings into the meat.

Add chicken broth and apple cider vinegar to the base of the pressure cooker.

Place the metal rack in.

Place the ribs inside the pressure cooker on the metal rack, standing on their side, wrapping around the inside.

Secure the lid, make sure the steam release dial is in the “seal” (closed) position.

Press “meat/poultry” button. Set temperature too high. Then adjust time to 30 minutes.

While the pressure cooker does it’s thing – in a mixing bowl combine cranberry sauce, BBQ sauce, maple syrup if using, dijon and salt.

Once cooking is complete, quick release pressure.

Turn oven on broil and set aside a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

When pressure is released, using tongs carefully transfer the ribs onto a prepared baking sheet.

Brush on the cranberry BBQ sauce on top of the ribs.

Broil for 3-5 minutes.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before slicing.

    Can the cranberry ribs be made in a crock pot?

      I haven’t tried them in a slow-cooker! I would follow the recipe and lay them the same way in the slow-cooker with the seasonings, broth and apple cider vinegar. Cover and cook on low for about 6 hours or until they seem tender. Then brush on sauce and broil 2-3 minutes. I also have a rib recipe for in the oven if you search ” cherry bbq St. Louis ribs ” you can use the same method but use the cranberry bbq sauce instead!
