Crispy baked buffalo wings – the perfect game day snack or party appetizer. Always paired with some ranch dressing and celery!
Tis’ the season for buffalo flavored everything. I’m all about it – my appetite is always craving some buffalo sauce. Which is pretty obvious considering a lot of my other recipes revolve around it.
Some of my other buffalo recipes besides these yummy crispy baked buffalo wings: air fried buffalo fries [3], air fried OR oven baked buffalo chicken meatballs [4] (my favorite), buffalo chicken chili [5], buffalo chicken burger sliders [6], healthy buffalo chicken tender salad [7]and buffalo chicken zucchini boats. [8] We have quite a theme going on here.
I have a homemade buffalo sauce recipe below. It’s really easy and includes my favorite hot sauce, Frank’s Red Hot [9].. duh! But, feel free to go the store bought buffalo sauce route. My favorite is this Primal Kitchen [10]one. I get it at Whole Food’s or you can click the link to buy it on amazon. It’s Whole30 and paleo friendly. The ingredients don’t get much better!
I get my split chicken wings from Butcher Box [11]. Which is where I get almost all of my meat. I really can’t rave over Butcher Box enough. All of their meat is amazing quality. 100% grass-fed beef, free-range organic chicken, heritage breed pork, wild Alaskan salmon. They even have wild sea scallops now. Quality meat has become a non-negotiable for me. Plus, it’s convenient! Click here [12] to sign up and get $30 off your first box!
Quite personally, I’m not that into football. But, I like the idea of relaxing on Sunday and eating some good food. Therefore, I plan on creating some more delicious game day snacks or appetizers. What’s your favorite game day snack? Let me know in the comments and I’ll try to re-create it 🙂

Ingredients
- Baked Chicken Wings
- 3 lbs. split chicken wings
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- salt and pepper to taste
- Buffalo Sauce
- 1/2 cup Frank’s Red Hot
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- 2 tsp honey, optional
- salt to taste
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Take a large baking sheet and top it with a cooling rack (baking the wings on the rack gets them crispier)
Rinse your chicken wings and pat them dry. Toss them in a bowl with the olive oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
Place each chicken wing on on the baking rack topped baking sheet in a single layer. Do not over crowd the wings.
Bake for 25 minutes, flip and make for another 15 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, combine all of the buffalo sauce ingredients.
When wings are done baking, using tongs place the wings in the bowl with the buffalo sauce and toss them with the sauce until they’re coated.
Remove the cooling rack from the baking sheet and top it with parchment paper or non-stick foil. Place the coated wings on top.
Broil the wings on high for 3-5 minutes or until they’re crispy, just keep an eye.. they can burn quickly!
Serve immediately with ranch dressing and celery if desired!
