Frozen Cherry Margaritas

These refreshing frozen cherry margaritas are super easy to make at home and only call for a handful of simple ingredients!

Frozen Cherry Margaritas

Say hello to your new favorite summer cocktail! I love any kind of margarita. On the rocks, spicy, frozen, fruity. I love them all and how much variety there is when it comes to them. These frozen cherry margaritas are absolutely perfect for warmer weather. They’re refreshing and will instantly cool you off. They’re sweet and tart. They kind of remind me of a blend between sangria and a classic frozen margarita. Regardless, they are amazing!

I got this genius cocktail recipe from one of our favorite restaurants in Austin, Jack Allen’s Kitchen [3]. We used to live about 5 minutes away from this spot. So, we were there very often. Often enough to try almost all of their drinks. The frozen cherry margarita was a favorite! Therefore, I had to make my own homemade version. Especially now that were live farther away and can’t get there as much!

Frozen Cherry Margaritas

Ingredients

Scale

3 cups frozen cherries
45 oz. tequila
2 oz. Cointreau
1 oz. agave
3 oz. lime juice
ice, optional
salt for rim, optional

Instructions

Run a lime slice around the rim of your glasses then fill a shallow bowl or plate with salt then gently dip the rim of the glasses in the salt until they are coated.

In a blender combine frozen cherries, tequila, Cointreau, agave, lime juice and ice if using. I know not everyone likes to put ice in their blenders. However, I add a little because I like my drinks to be extra thick and frozen.

Blend until smooth and pour into prepared glasses, enjoy!
