I started IVF back in 2022 after struggling with trying to conceive for years. I remember being so overwhelmed between appointments, all of the medications, timing everything out perfectly. It felt like a lot to remember on top of the emotional toll it took on me. I went through another egg retrieval in 2024 as well as a total of 5 transfers and multiple reproductive surgeries in between.
Along the way I had a dream of creating something that I would have loved to have when I first started the IVF process. This journal and planner is here to support and guide you as you start one of the most important chapters. IVF is a mix of emotions – it is scary but also exciting. It’s filled with hope and so much vulnerability. My hopes in creating this journal is to make this process a little easier for women who find themselves overwhelmed by the process.
It has everything from a calendar to track appointments, surgeries, therapy, acupuncture, etc. It has a medication and supplement log so you don’t forget any of those!
It also has daily reflection pages to help you reflect, find things to be grateful for, write some affirmations or to just journal and let out your feelings.
The 10 day wait toolkit is designed for the wait between transfer and pregnancy blood test. I have gone through it 5 times and the waiting is one of the hardest parts for me. These pages are here for emotional support – gentle prompts, coping tools and grounding ideas.
There is also a page for test day which are some pages to process either outcome.
One of my favorite parts of this journal is the the last section which is “make your own vision board” This is a creative corner for you to add baby name ideas (if this feels right for you), your favorite quotes, words that remind you of strength. There is also a folder in the back to store embryo photos, dried flowers from transfer day, wristbands from clinic visits, pinterest photos that inspire you, or letters/cards from loved ones along the way.
If you know someone who is about to start IVF – this would be the perfect gift to show them some love and support. And if you are someone who is about to go through it yourself, this journal is here to give you a safe space to let out your feelings and hopefully take off some of the overwhelm you feel on your plate right now.
