Crispy oven baked “everything but the bagel” crusted chicken fingers with a quick, easy and delicious comeback dipping sauce!
One of my favorite things from Trader Joe’s (and I have a long list of favorites, trust me) is their “everything but the bagel seasoning.” It adds so much flavor to whatever you sprinkle it on. Eggs, avocado toast, salad, chicken, sliced tomatoes.. you name it. Adding a pinch of this stuff can save any boring meal. It definitely makes a traditional favorite (chicken fingers) even more delicious!
Being from New Jersey, there are few things I crave more than a good everything bagel with cream cheese and sliced tomato. Not only is it the best hang-over cure but it’s also my favorite breakfast in this world. Sorry, Texas.. breakfast tacos are good but just not on everything bagel’s level.
I love it so much, that I created a recipe on here that ties all those flavors together. Just in stuffed chicken breast instead of a bagel. My cream cheese and tomato stuffed “everything” chicken is one of my oldest, yet most popular recipes! It’s a must try.. healthy, easy to make, minimal ingredients, and most importantly, it’s delicious 🙂
This chicken tender recipe is my finger food spin-off recipe. It still has very minimal ingredients. I got my chicken tenders from Butcher Box because I know they’re great quality and delivered to my door. Click here to sign up and get 2 free lbs. of wild caught salmon in your first Butcher box order. In addition to the chicken, all you need is some “everything seasoning”, blanched almond flour, an egg and cooking spray.
My comeback sauce is also super easy! It’s not quite like traditional comeback sauce which has chili sauce. But, it’s flavorful and will definitely keep you coming back for more dips 😉
If you don’t have a Trader Joe’s nearby, there are tons of copy-cat recipes on the internet to make your own “everything” seasoning at home. This one linked here has some great reviews!
Print“Everything” Crusted Chicken Fingers
- Yield: 2 servings 1x
Ingredients
Everything Chicken Fingers
1 lb. chicken tenders
3 tbsp “everything but the bagel” seasoning
1 egg
1/4 cup almond meal (NOT almond flour), you could also use bread-crumbs
Comeback Dipping Sauce
1/2 cup mayo
1 tsp lemon juice
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
2 tsp hot sauce, I use Frank’s Red Hot
1/4 tsp dried mustard
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
pinch of paprika
pinch of salt and pepper
Instructions
Chicken Fingers
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Or line with foil and lightly spray.
In one small/medium shallow bowl add the egg and whisk it.
In another shallow bowl add the everything seasoning and almond meal. Mix to combine.
Add each chicken tender in the bowl with the egg and fully coat the chicken tender. Remove with tongs (or I use one hand for egg mix and the other for everything/almond meal mix) and allow excess egg to drip off then add it to the bowl with everything seasoning and almond meal and fully coat the chicken tender.
Add crusted chicken tenders to the prepared baking sheet. Press on any extra seasoning/flour if desired.
Lightly spray the chicken fingers with non-stick cooking spray and bake for 17-20 minutes or until they’re cooked through, flipping them half way through bake time.
Comeback Sauce
Combine all sauce ingredients in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
