If you need one good reason to get an air fryer, this is it. I mean, just the fries alone made getting one worth it to me. They come out crispy and QUICK! Like half the time as the oven. I don’t know about you, but I get super impatient when waiting for my fries to cook.

Click here for the air fryer I use. I also heard the Ninja one is good, as well as the Philips.

Ingredients

Scale

Air Fried Japanese Sweet Potato Fries

2 Japanese sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into fries

12 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp paprika

1/4 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp ground mustard

salt and pepper to taste

Buffalo Aioli

1/3 cup mayo

2 tbsp store bought buffalo sauce of choice

pinch of paprika

salt to taste

Additional toppings

Hot sauce for drizzling, I use Frank’s Red Hot

Chopped green onion, to taste

Crumbled blue cheese or gorgonzola, to taste, optional

Instructions

First, take your cut Japanese sweet potato fries and soak them in a bowl of water for at least 30 minutes, this helps them get extra crispy!

While the fries are soaking in water prep your buffalo aioli by combining all the ingredients and mixing until smooth and well combined. Store in an air tight container and chill until ready to use.

Drain your fries and add them to a bowl mixed with olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder and ground mustard. Toss fries together with oil and seasonings then add to the air fryer basket.

Air fry at 380 degrees for 16-18 minutes or until crispy. Toss once or twice throughout cook time.

Carefully, add fries to a plate and drizzle with buffalo aioli, hot sauce, chopped green onion and blue cheese/gorgonzola (if using) and serve immediately!
