There are few things I love more than a good salad like this Italian Salad. It has to have delicious toppings and a flavorful dressing. This salad with honey mustard dressing checks all the boxes. Also, it’s easy as can be to throw together!

I make a salad almost every night with dinner. I’m always testing out new combinations. The other night I threw this one together and my husband raved about it. So if you have a hard time getting your husband to eat salad. Try this one 😉 I think the salami and mozzarella definitely help.

This salad makes for a great side with dinner. However, it can also be a great meal. I love throwing this combination together for a quick lunch. Either way, I hope you love this Italian Salad with Honey Mustard Dressing as much as I do!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make the dressing ahead?

Yes! But don’t toss the salad together with the dressing until you’re just about to eat otherwise the lettuce will wilt if it sits around in the dressing too long.

Do I have to make my own Honey Mustard Dressing?

The dressing just calls for a handful of ingredients. I know a lot of stores sell honey mustard dressing. However, making your own is so easy! Most of time it’s healthier too. All you will need for this one is olive oil, dijon, honey, oregano, garlic powder, salt and pepper.

What should I serve alongside this salad?

If you want to serve this salad as a side, it would go great with my Italian Bomba Rigatoni or my Pear & Caramalized Onion Pizza. If you’re looking for sides to go with this salad, I’d recommend my Fried Goats Cheese or my Air Fryer Crispy Fingerling Potatoes.

Can I make this salad vegetarian or vegan?

It is easy to make this salad vegetarian by leaving out the salami! For a vegan option also leave out the mozzarella, and use maple or agave syrup in the dressing – just taste as you go along as they both have slightly different flavor profiles than honey.

Can I cook the chickpeas to make them crispy chickpeas instead?

That is an excellent idea if you’ve got a bit more time – it will add a bit more crunch to the salad and you have the option of tossing them in extra flavourings before you cook them. I love this recipe for spicy roasted mustard chickpeas.

This was absolutely delicious! Such an excellent way to use the leftover goodies from our New Year’s Eve charcuterie board, and we’ll be making this dressing to go with everything. Thank you!
